(Email) Timing Is Everything ~ Miss Communication

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

Inspiration can strike at the oddest times, like 3am, when you sit bolt upright in bed and know exactly how to respond to that email that came from your boss, customer, or colleague.  Don’t let that inspiration pass you by, get your thoughts down but don’t be “that guy/gal” who sends the email at 3am.   Use the tools in your email apps to deliver the message at an appropriate time.  It’s a great way to show that you respect other’s down time.  Just because our technology allows us to always be “on” we can say who, we can say when! (Can anyone name that movie?).

The Schedule Send/Delay Delivery features in Gmail and Outlook should be something you use on a regular basis for strategic delivery of your email.  Consider this, it’s Friday afternoon and you’re finally getting to that beefy email that contains critical and detailed info.  Rather than sending when your done, schedule it for delivery Monday mid-morning when the recipients are fresh, not fatigued.

The Schedule Send/Delay Deliver feature is available when composing emails on your laptop or phone. Start harnessing its power to be both strategic and courteous so you don’t run into me… Miss Communication.

Check out the video for details on the Schedule Send/Delay Delivery feature in both Gmail and Outlook.

At Articulated Intelligence we focus on up leveling all aspects of your communication to better spread your ideas, sell more products and services, and make interactions less arduous and more memorable (and respectful).  Drop us a line or schedule a quick chat.  We’d love to get to know you and see how we might help you meet your personal and professional communication goals.
