Get What You Ask For By Asking for It First ~ Miss Communication

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

How many of you read more than the first line or two of an email?   One of you! Hmmmm, even that seems like a stretch.   If you don’t read more than the first line, why would you expect others to do it?  Yet, where do we typically put “the ask” in an email?  That’s right, at the bottom, likely the third, forth or more line in.    Here is a Communication Cotillion video with 3 tips, from yours truly, Miss Communication on giving your email receiver the gift of putting your ask up front. And, by doing so, you might actually get what you ask for.

Shout out to my former colleague Catherine Norbeck for teaching me this tip years ago, it’s been a game changer in my communication.
